It’s been a while since I have written something and I decided to do a write up about one of the most anticipated sequels and films of 2019. Say it with me….

Jooohhhhnnnn Wick.

John Wick is one of those movie franchises that on paper probably should be a movie franchise in this modern day of big budget,Superhero, sequels, reboots era of films, but similar to the Taken series from a few years back there is just something about these movies that draw audiences in mainly the action but also it’s main actor here being Keanu Reeves who just might be Hollywood’s most low key movie star.

Chapter 3: Parabellum picks up basically 30 minutes where Chapter 2 ended where John has been slapped with a 14 mil bounty on his head and has been exiled from the underground assassin world that he has been apart of. This is one of the things that I like about this series is that it feels like one long story that’s being told in parts so it’s easy to follow along with but also kind of forces you to watch the previous installments so you know what exactly is going on here.

Chapter 3 we get of some of the familiar supporting characters returning Winston(Ian McShane), The Bowery King(Laurence Fishburne), Charon(Lance Reddick) as well as some new characters Asia Kate Dillon(Billions) as an Adjudicator for the High Council to basically clean up everything that John has done from the previous film as well as right a few wrongs along the way.

Mark Dacascos shows up as one of main assassins that’s gunning for John Wick, Dacascos give a really good performance as Zero who on the surface seems to be one way but shows another side of him which I wont spoil here but Dacascos does a great job of bringing out that side of the character and shows he can still kick some ass too.

Anjelica Huston gives a nice solid performance as well as The Director who runs a ballet school but also seems to be a training ground for assassins as well, she has always been a good actress and it was good seeing her hopefully she will return in some good projects in the future.

Even though this is John Wick movie and make no mistake about it It is, but surprisingly during the second act it becomes Halle Berry…that’s right Halle Freaking Berry’s film she makes probably the biggest impact of anyone not name Wick in the film as Sofia a former “friend” of John that helps him and I must admit I’m not the biggest Halle fan but I give credit when its due and she really steals the show along with her two dogs. I actually wouldnt mind seeing a spinoff with her as Sofia with her two dogs.

John Wick Chapter 3 is face paced, the action is lifted too new heights and even balances in some dark humor through it which I was surprised by in a good way.

Movie Rating 4.5 out of 5 Stars
